Alternative format idea for QI:

Stephen Fry sits on a throne and reads out a list of obscure multi-syllabic words while the fawning guests bow at his feet and present him with gifts.

Alan Davies will be on a lead and will lie on a velvet blanket at Fry's side, occasionally being fed treats by the giant polymath.

It's not quite suburbia. But it's not quite London, either.
There is a man on the Internet, and he reviews towns on the outskirts of London. Upminster and Romford both get an unflattering, if wholly accurate write-up.

I don't know if I should be ashamed to admit I'm feeling somewhat homesick. Half of me believes I belong in the familiarity and mediocrity of Havering, while the other half says I shouldn't feel so guilty for leaving for the sake of trying new things.

The weather station at the top of the BT Tower was lit up like a Christmas tree with all the wind we had last night. Not a bad bedroom view for a geek, really.

Got my driving test coming up on the 2nd, which I think I'll probably be ready for. I've had a lot of trouble concentrating on the road recently which hasn't helped matters, I've been zoning out too much for anything to go in my head properly. Hopefully I'll be back in work soon and get some general momentum going again so I'm not going from zombifying daytime television to dual carriageways in such a jolt.

Earthquake

It only lasted for all of about three seconds here. I thought it was someone running around in the flat upstairs, or perhaps the boiler in the process of exploding.
